I would probably choose to do a tour of the Holy Land (with a wide swing through The British Isles on the way back.)

Hi Susan,

My husband toured the Holy Land back in 1972. Whew, does that seem like forever ago. We met a year after that.

Perhaps someday we'll meet at the empty tomb. That is the place I'd like to see if I was able to go to Israel.

Happy New Year, Susan!

I would love to travel through the small communities in the Swiss Alps. Hiking and exploring nature and culture are two of my favorite things (haha.. :-) The highlight of my trip would be a train to the "top of Europe" - Jungfraujoch.

Eileen Rife said...

Sign me up for that trip, Casey! Traveling Europe has always been a dream of mine as well.

Back to Angel Lodge in the Grand Canyons and then Wolf Creek Pass. And I would be physically healthy to go to the bottom of the Canyons.

Aren't dreams wonderful!

I was just sharing with my husband over lunch my dream to start raised-bed gardening this spring.

We'll see.

Our family toured Grand Canyon several years ago. We made it a quarter of the way down Angel Bright trail and decided to turn back.

Humorous now reflecting on how our bodies were plastered against the canyon wall as we inched our way down the trail. Passing us, mules loaded with people dangled so close to the edge it made my heart drop to my stomach.

Even worse was my husband who stood so close to the edge while capturing the canyon on video tape. That one gave me post-tramatic stress as I lay in bed remembering the scene.

I shudder to think of it. But nonetheless, some great memories of the beauty and intriguing design of the rock formations and depth of the canyon.

Hope you are able to return someday and be strong enough to go to the bottom of the canyon, Linda.

Wow! So many places I'd like to see or see again with my husband.
I would love to see Rome and the Vatican, but I would really like to return to England and Scotland and throw in Ireland this time. I would also like to see Switzerland and see where some of my ancestors lived - would hope to see that in England, Scotland and Ireland, too. So, maybe a month in Europe would get us to most of the places we'd want to see. Definitely staying in B&B's whenever possible.

Eileen Rife said...

Oh, yes, those lovely B&Bs, and especially in Ireland. Never been, but would like to for sure. :)

I would have to say Ireland but really anywhere I can take my whole family and really get away to some where with no distractions no internet no phones no tv a place where we could all bond and share the experience.

Sounds wonderful, Sunshine Mom! :)

I would like to go somewhere in South America...Ecuador, Chile, Belize, anywhere with beautiful beaches and rainforests, too. I have obviously been watching too much House Hunters International on HGTV!

Eileen Rife said...

Joyce, your comment swept me away on a mini-vacation. Ah, the beach. . .

Floating on the waves, sun warming my face, sand between the toes, sea gulls squawking overhead. Breathing in the salty air. Breeze whipping over my skin.

Much more relaxed now. :)

My heart's desire is to return to Russia, Ufa, Bashkortostan to be exact. to visit the people we ministered to from 1997-2001. We have not been back since then. Sam does not want to go though so I am praying about it.

Eileen Rife said...

Yes, I'm sure a part of your heart will always be in Russia, Harriet.

Praying for God's timing in this. If not during this age, perhaps you'll fly over there when God forms the new heavens and earth, except you won't need a plane most likely. :)

Good to hear from you!
